Steven L. Gonzales

Mr. Gonzales received his B.U.S. (Communication and Journalism) from the University of New Mexico in 1996 and graduated cum laude, from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2000.
Mr. Gonzales began his legal career in 2000 as an associate attorney with the metropolitan Washington, D.C. law firm of Karp, Frosh Lapidus Wigodsky & Norwind, P.A. At KFLW&N, Mr. Gonzales was a member of the firm’s Business Group, and his practice focused on commercial disputes and personal injury litigation. He also provided transactional business services and estate planning to the firm’s clients.
In 2003, Mr. Gonzales joined Butt Thornton & Baehr PC, an Albuquerque, NM insurance defense firm. While at BTB, Mr. Gonzales defended governmental entities, self-insured corporations, and the policyholders of many insurance companies in state and federal courts. His practice centered on the defense of tort cases involving catastrophic injuries and death, and also commercial litigation.
Mr. Gonzales is licensed before all state and federal courts in New Mexico and Maryland. He has tried civil and criminal cases in the District and Circuit courts of Maryland, and civil cases in the District and Metropolitan courts of New Mexico. His briefs have resulted in favorable opinions from the highest courts of both New Mexico and Maryland.
In 2005, he began serving as Of Counsel to Silva & Saucedo, P.C., and became the managing member of Gonzales Law Firm, LLC. In 2007, Mr. Gonzales became a partner with Silva & Gonzales, P.C. |
